The sources are saying that the firm is planning to raise around ?2500 crore to ?3500 crore via an IPO, targeting a valuation of up to ?15,000 crore ($1.8 billion).
The IPO will include both a fresh issue and an Offer-for-Sale component. The proceeds raised from the fresh issue will be used to strengthen technology and AI infrastructure, fund content production, and support geographic expansion.
Incorporated in 2018, Kuku Technologies was founded by IIT alumni Lal Chand Bisu, Vinod Kumar, and Vikas Goyal. It operates Kuku FM, an audio content platform providing audiobooks, podcasts, self-help content, finance, education, and entertainment. And Kuku TV is a short drama and video content platform. The firm has attracted various major investors, including Google, Krafton, and the International Finance Corporation.
Financially, in FY26, the firm has generated revenue of ?1,400 crore, seven times more than generating ?240 crore in FY25. The company also said that they are becoming profitable. Moreover, the use of AI technology helps them to create content faster and attract new customers. They also said that the Microdrama format, which features short episodes of 2 to 3 minutes, has generated huge interest for them.
As of now, Kuku FM has 100m+ downloads with a 4.2 rating with various audiobooks, audiostories, and series available in 7 languages, and Kuku TV, as well as has 100m+ downloads with a 4.4 rating.
